Forklift Maintenance Checklist (Simple)

A straightforward maintenance checklist for forklifts. Daily inspections plus scheduled service intervals.

Daily Pre-Operation Inspection

Before operating the forklift each day, check:

  • Fluid levels (oil, coolant, hydraulic)
  • Tire condition and pressure
  • Forks for cracks or damage
  • Mast chains and rollers
  • Brakes (service and parking)
  • Steering operation
  • Horn, lights, and backup alarm
  • Seatbelt condition
  • Leaks under the machine
  • Battery condition (electric) or fuel level (gas/diesel)

Do not operate if any safety items fail inspection
